Historic Residence

The Ansitz Heufler is considered one of the most impressive historic estates in South Tyrol, built in 1580 by the Lords von Hohenbühel, named "Heufler zu Rasen."

It is part of that group of exclusive residences that were built in rural areas by nobles in the Renaissance era.

The present Ansitz Heufler (the old Ansitz is mentioned in 1428 as "at Heuffler's high house") was built around 1580 and is a two-story square structure (ground floor about 20 m x 20 m), with four corner towers and pitched roofs. On the north side, traces of a two-story loggia with round arches, which has long since disappeared, can still be seen. The first-floor windows have basket-shaped grilles with roses and creepers.

Of particular interest is the Renaissance stube, the "Hearnstube," with beautiful wood wall inlays and a precious old stove decorated with coats of arms. The Manor Stube is now considered one of the most beautiful Renaissance Stube in the entire Alpine region.

"Beautiful and tastefully renovated place with original Renaissance furnishings, very friendly and knowledgeable hosts, excellent breakfast with regional products."
